On Saturday, September 13 and Sunday, September 14, thousands of special monuments will open their doors again during Open Monument Day. In Overbetuwe, everyone is welcome to take a look at these special places: you can visit them for free and experience them up close. A unique chance to discover the rich history of Overbetuwe!

One of those special open monuments is Molen de Vink in Herveld-Andelst. This 300-year-old post mill is still completely in its original state and a true gem within our municipality. Unfortunately, the support beams have been damaged by woodworm and the sails are also due for replacement. For the much-needed renovation, the mill relies on subsidies and donations. To draw attention to this special monument in Overbetuwe, alderman Evert Westerbeek will start Open Monument Day at Molen de Vink.

In addition to the mill, there are many other beautiful monuments to discover throughout Overbetuwe. From historic churches to special buildings. Each tells a story about our local history. Come by and feel history come to life!
