From November 10 to 16, it is Climate Week 2025. A week full of activities around energy, greenery, sustainable living, and community life. The highlight of the week is the Sustainability Market on Wednesday, November 12 in Elst. Everyone is welcome!

During Climate Week, residents and business associations will show what is already happening in Overbetuwe in terms of sustainability. We also look ahead: how do we make our villages greener, more energy-efficient, and future-proof together?

Climate Mayor Hans van Suurmond says: Sustainability starts small, right at home and in your own street. During Climate Week, we show that every step counts.

Sustainability Market: Inspiration and Meeting

The municipality warmly invites you to the Sustainability Market:
Location: Town Hall Overbetuwe in Elst
Date: Wednesday, November 12
Time: 19:00 – 21:00 hours

At the market, you will find inspiring examples of local initiatives and business associations. You can get ideas, practical tips, and engage in discussions on how we can make Overbetuwe more sustainable together. The municipality will also be present to exchange thoughts with residents and gather suggestions.

Join in during Climate Week

Everyone can contribute to a more sustainable Overbetuwe. For example, organize a green cleanup action, a workshop on repairing appliances, or a clothing swap fair.

Climate Mayor Kees van Rooijen shares: “My granddaughter from group 6 recently asked: Grandpa, can we make a plan together for our village during Climate Week?”. That is exactly what it’s about, doing something together, no matter how small.

Will you come too?

Come to the Sustainability Market on November 12. More information can be found at Overbetuwe Sustainable.
