On Friday, August 22, deputy mayor Wijnte Hol presented a Royal Distinction to Mr. Chris Siccama (77) from Heteren at the SDOO football club. He received the Royal Distinction and the appointment as Member of the Order of Orange-Nassau for his long-standing voluntary commitment to the SDOO football club and the childrens play week in Heteren.
Decades-long volunteer at SDOO
Mr. Siccama has been involved as a volunteer at the SDOO football club for decades. He has been and is active as:
- Youth and head coach
- Board member for senior football matters
- Co-organizer of youth tournaments
- Member of the construction committee during the relocation of SDOO to sports park Bretagne
- Board member for technical matters
- Member of the technical committee
- Member of the anniversary committee SDOO 75 years
- Member of the maintenance team
- Host for visiting clubs
- Secretary for match administration
Mr. Siccama is also an honorary member of SDOO Heteren.
Volunteer at childrens play week Heteren
Mr. Siccama has been voluntarily active for 15 years for the childrens play week in Heteren, organized by Fun for Kids. He coordinates the bread baking and arranges the football activities for children.

The presentation of the Royal Distinction to Mr. Chris Siccama took place during the official kickoff of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the SDOO football club at the village square of Hart van Heteren.
