On Friday, October 31, Mayor Patricia Hoytink-Roubos presented a Royal Decoration to Mr. Jan Janssen (65) from Oosterhout during the ‘Dance Macabre’ concert by the Oosterhout music association Con Amore. He received the Royal Decoration and was appointed Member of the Order of Orange-Nassau for his long-term voluntary commitment to the music association Con Amore and various organizations and projects in Oosterhout.

Forms of Volunteering

Mr. Janssen has been involved for many years as a volunteer with Con Amore, carnival association De Wielewoalers, the Kleinood foundation, Hart van Oosterhout, and the twinning with Overbetuwe’s partner municipality Usingen in Germany.

He was and is active as:

  • Board member and chairman of Con Amore
  • Member of the sponsor and production committee of Con Amore
  • Volunteer for various tasks for Con Amore
  • Volunteer at carnival association De Wielewoalers
  • Co-founder and board member of the Kleinood foundation
  • Board member of Hart van Oosterhout
  • Host for visitors from the German partner municipality Usingen
