On Sunday, January 18, Deputy Mayor Wijnte Hol presented a Royal Decoration to Mr. Willem Jansen (46) from Elst. The presentation took place during the ITF Taekwon-Do 3-country training at Sporthal De Schop in Asten. He received the Royal Decoration and was appointed Knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau for his extraordinary merits in the martial art of Taekwon-Do.
Teaching
Mr. Willem Jansen is a prominent instructor of this martial art within the Dutch Taekwon-Do federation ITF-RD. As an instructor, he is involved in the personal and athletic development of many practitioners and is regarded as an ambassador of Taekwon-Do.
He is among others the author and co-author of several books about this martial art. Beyond his commitment to ITF-RD, he is also involved in various national and international committees and boards within the International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF).
Presentation
Due to his merits both nationally and internationally in promoting the Taekwon-Do martial art, the presentation took place during an international meeting in Asten. Athletes and representatives of the Taekwon-Do martial art from the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany were present.
