We all use and supply more and more electricity. Think of the lighting and heating of our homes, solar panels, electric cooking, and charging cars. As a result, the power grid is becoming full. Network operator Liander is therefore strengthening the electricity network in various locations. They will also be working in Overbetuwe in the coming years.

What does Liander do?

To address the full power grid, Liander installs extra electricity cabinets and cables. Liander carries out the work neighborhood by neighborhood. The goal is to work in the neighborhood only once, instead of multiple times over a few years. This limits the inconvenience. Curious how Liander chooses the location for a new electricity cabinet? Then check out Lianders website.

Can you contribute?

You will soon be able to help decide on the appearance of the electricity cabinet in your neighborhood. This can range from choosing a color to creating artwork on the cabinet. Alderman Evert Westerbeek: “We find it important that all residents and businesses have electricity now and in the future. For that, the new electricity cabinets are urgently needed. This also affects the design of public spaces. Therefore, we focus on a good integration of the electricity cabinets and involve residents if they wish.”

What will you notice?

During the network improvement, you may experience inconvenience. In some places, the sidewalk or street will be opened to lay cables. And it may be that you temporarily have no electricity when a cabinet or cable is connected. Is Liander working in your neighborhood? Then you will receive a letter from Liander about this.
