The plans for the construction of 34 owner-occupied apartments in and for the St. Willibrorduskerk in Herveld have taken an important step forward. On Tuesday, July 16, the municipality of Overbetuwe and initiator t Dorp B.V. from Oss signed a preliminary agreement. This expresses both parties intention to collaborate on the redevelopment of the church and the realization of new construction at the front. The college of mayor and aldermen already approved this agreement on Monday.
Why a Preliminary Agreement?
The preliminary agreement pertains to the phase leading up to the start of the permit procedure. In the coming period, the developer will conduct studies into the integration and feasibility of the plan. The outcomes of these studies will be included in a final document. If the developer and the municipality jointly conclude that the plan is feasible, the procedure for the permit can commence.
Alderman Karel Grimm: “This is a beautiful and important housing construction plan for Herveld. The village is eager for more housing. Therefore, these 34 apartments, of which 11 are social ownership, 13 affordable ownership, and 10 expensive ownership, are more than welcome.”
