We honor a volunteer(s) every year with the volunteer award The Toonbeeld. Which volunteer, informal caregiver, sports volunteer, or group of volunteers has dedicated themselves wholeheartedly to others in recent years and deserves to be recognized? Do you know someone who makes a difference through their enthusiastic contribution to volunteer work?
Nominate this person and/or group by November 6, 2025, for the Volunteer of the Year 2025 election! You can register via www.fortewelzijn.nl/toonbeeld.
The winner of the election will receive The Toonbeeld and the title Volunteer of the Year 2025. The Toonbeeld 2025 will be awarded during the New Years reception of the Municipality of Overbetuwe.
Conditions
An independent jury, familiar with volunteer work in Overbetuwe, will determine which nominated volunteer will receive the award.
The jury evaluates the submissions based on the following conditions:
- A volunteer must reside in the municipality of Overbetuwe and dedicate themselves to other residents of the municipality, or to an association or institution within the municipality of Overbetuwe.
- The volunteer must not have received a volunteer award or royal distinction in the past five years.
- The volunteer must perform volunteer work in a non-commercial organization or a project of non-commercial organizations.
- It does not matter how long a volunteer has been volunteering; it is about the social value, “making a difference,” commitment, and passion. In this way, young people can also qualify for The Toonbeeld.
