Rotterdam is getting a new city bridge between IJsselmonde and De Esch. A new tram will soon run over the bridge from Zuidplein to Kralingse Zoom and back. A new train station will also be built along the route at De Kuip: Station Rotterdam Stadionpark.
This is necessary because Rotterdam is growing rapidly. A total of 30,000 new homes will be added in the eastern part of the city, on both sides of the Nieuwe Maas. This means that many more people will be moving in. Therefore, the team of City Bridge and Public Transport is designing new, fast travel routes to ensure everything remains accessible.
