The Youth Hub at Noorderhagen (IJsselmonde) is looking for cooks. They are volunteers who enjoy cooking and do it once a month for about 30 young people. They enjoy it immensely. And it is a lively atmosphere on Wednesdays, says Lianne van Dis.
Do you love cooking and enjoy making others happy? At the Youth Hub at Noorderhagen, they could use help in the kitchen. Specifically, in preparing meals for about 30 young people; once a month on Wednesday evenings.
‘We are looking for 3 volunteers to cook. It involves simple dishes like lasagna or pasta,’ says Lianne van Dis from Youth For Christ Rotterdam. Link opens an external page. ‘They are of course also welcome to join the young people for a meal if they like. There is a budget for groceries.’
Enjoying
On the monthly cooking evening, it is already a lively atmosphere, according to Lianne. ‘Then there are more activities in the hub. Our youth workers cannot manage to cook as well. That’s why we are looking for people to contribute. You make a lot of young people happy. They always enjoy a meal together immensely.’
In addition to the meals, there is a lot to do at the hub at Noorderhagen 1. From dancing to making music and meeting others. There is, among other things, a music studio, sports hall, design & art space, lounge room, and a podcast room. The young people can also organize and discover what they are good at.
