Do you want to do something for your street together with your neighbors? From Monday, March 2, you can apply for money and supplies again at Opzoomer Mee.

Whether you want to add more greenery to the street, organize an activity with neighbors, or get to know the people in your apartment building better: there is an offer suitable for almost everyone.

What is Opzoomeren?

In 1989, residents of Opzoomerstraat (Het Nieuwe Westen) decided to join forces to make their street nicer, greener, and cozier. More and more Rotterdam streets followed their example. This is how Opzoomeren was born.

For over 30 years, Opzoomer Mee has supported streets with money, tips, and supplies. Residents can apply for a contribution for their Opzoomer action 3 times a year. The first round of 2026 has now started and runs until Friday, July 3.

How does it work?

Gather at least 5 neighbors (including yourself) and make a plan for an activity that brings neighbors together. Submit your plan via opzoomermee.nl/straat. Link opens an external page in a new browser tab.. 

If you have a plan to make your street greener, register at opzoomermee.nl/groen. Link opens an external page in a new browser tab.. After submitting an application, you will hear from Opzoomer Mee whether your street is eligible for a contribution.

New this year

As every year, neighbors can apply together for money for an activity or a green action in the street. In addition, you can request a free shed once a year with handy supplies for a street activity.

There are 2 new offers this year:

  • The Flat Package with handy supplies and tips to get to know neighbors in an apartment building better.
  • The Green Activation Package: a package with step-by-step plans and handy materials to work together with neighbors for a green street.
