As a municipality, we have stopped using the OmgevingsAlert app in ’s-Hertogenbosch. Residents are informed by the National Government about announcements regarding permit applications in their neighborhood.

‘Messages about your Neighborhood’ via National Government

Since last year, everyone in the Netherlands over 25 years old with a known email address at Overheid.nl receives an email about permit applications in their neighborhood. This includes permits for renovating a house, cutting down a tree, or holding a neighborhood party. The National Government sends these emails via Overheid.nl. More information, managing your settings, or unsubscribing from the mailing can be found on the Overheid.nl website.

OmgevingsAlert app

Due to this email service from the National Government, we as a municipality stopped using the OmgevingsAlert app as of January 1, 2026. Previously, permit applications could also be found in this app. Since the beginning of this year, there is no longer any information about our municipality in this app. If you want to continue using the app, you can, but you will have to pay a fee.

Why an email service?

As a municipality, we are required to publish (proposed) decisions digitally. These announcements impact your immediate living environment. With the email service, you stay informed about decisions in your area. These announcements can also be found on the Overheid.nl website.
