The 120 participants were selected based on several criteria. Together, they form a good reflection of our municipality: young people, elderly, individuals from different neighborhoods and villages, with diverse backgrounds and education levels. In the coming weeks, these residents will formulate advice for the municipal government on how Tilburg can sustainably transition in a fair manner.
Meeting and Deepening
After a plenary opening and a warm welcome by the alderman, the participants engaged in discussions with council members and posed their initial questions. During the coffee break, participants got to know each other better. Then, a college tour on the energy transition was on the agenda, followed by a joint lunch.
In the afternoon, brainstorming took place on which topics participants want to discuss in the upcoming meetings. A guest lecture on justice was also scheduled. The day concluded with a joint check-out, where participants shared their first impressions.
The day marked the beginning of a special democratic experiment in Tilburg, where diversity and dialogue are central. Would you like to follow the process closely? Then check denkmee.tilburg.nl/tilburgerberaad regularly.
