Think Ahead Campaign

Monday, November 17, is the national action day of the public campaign Think Ahead by the National Coordinator for Counterterrorism and Security (NCTV). Across the Netherlands, images appear with the text: The Netherlands goes down. How well are you prepared?

With the campaign, municipalities, safety regions, and the national government call on everyone to prepare for an emergency. Think, for example, of a major power outage, like the one that occurred this spring in Spain and Portugal. With an emergency kit and an emergency plan, you ensure that you and your surroundings are well prepared.

The campaign will be visible in various locations in the coming period. Between November 25 and December 10, all households in the Netherlands will receive a booklet with more information and tips to prepare yourself.

What does the Municipality of Tilburg do?

The Municipality of Tilburg works together with the Safety Region Midden- and West-Brabant on plans to be well prepared for emergencies. We also set up emergency support points. You can go there if power or water is out for an extended period. Together with the safety region, we investigate how best to approach this and which locations are suitable.

In the Municipality of Tilburg, we look out for each other and help each other where possible. This is especially important in an emergency. Think of the elderly, people who are ill, or those with disabilities. If you are well prepared, you can also mean something to others. Together we are strong.
