During the control around the Stadsforum, over a hundred drivers were addressed and fined for offenses such as speeding, driving under the influence, using a phone while driving, and driving without a license. Ten cars were also seized, and over 21,000 euros in outstanding tax debts were collected.
Why these controls?
Antisocial driving behavior causes danger and nuisance in the municipality. Think of speeding, loud exhausts, intimidating behavior, or throwing trash out of the window. Residents, entrepreneurs, and visitors experience nuisance and feel less safe because of this. Through targeted controls, the municipality, police, and other partners show that there is no place for this behavior in the Municipality of Tilburg.
Follow-up
The municipality and partners will evaluate the HarT pilot together. The intention is that in the future there will be more unplanned controls in various locations.
