On Wednesday, January 21, Ms. Fleur Gräper – van Koolwijk was installed as the new mayor of the municipality of Tilburg during a council meeting.
Fleur Gräper – van Koolwijk is an experienced administrator. In 2024, she served as (caretaker) State Secretary for Education, Culture and Science.
Previously, she was a commissioner for the province of Groningen for 8 years and in that role also vice-chair of the IPO (Interprovincial Consultation). Earlier, she was secretary-general for the Social-Economic Council of Northern Netherlands.
Fleur Gräper – van Koolwijk studied history at the University of Groningen. She is married, 51 years old, and mother of two studying children. She succeeds Theo Weterings who retired as mayor on September 1. In the interim period, Onno Hoes was acting mayor of our municipality.
