Instead of the kiosks on the Schouwburgpromenade, green parks will be created. The demolition work is expected to start at the end of January 2026.

We are working hard to create an attractive and easily accessible city center in Tilburg. A city center where you can live and shop comfortably, with more space for greenery, cyclists, and pedestrians. We do this by realizing large-scale developments in phases, such as the Stadsforum and the Parkring. The work on the Schouwburgpromenade is part of this.

The work

Because the Schouwburgpromenade is part of three large-scale developments, we are carrying out the redesign in phases. Lunchroom De Carrousel and the canopy attached to the shops will remain. In preparation for the demolition, the rental contracts for the kiosks have been terminated and the municipality has become the owner. At the end of January 2026, demolition will start on the kiosks at Schouwburgring with house numbers 3, 5, 7, 11, 15, 19, 23, 27, 29, 31, and 33, as well as the promenade canopy.

Final layout

After the demolition work, we cannot yet finalize the layout of the Schouwburgpromenade. This is because this location is part of two developments: the Stadsforum and the Parkring. Therefore, we will temporarily arrange the freed-up space with existing tree containers and flower mixtures in the ground. The image shows which part will be demolished and what will remain.
