It snowed last night and will continue to snow in the coming days. This means it can be slippery. The municipality is therefore spreading grit according to the gritting plan.
Residents can collect free grit salt during the opening hours of the Albion waste yard and at the Mobile Recycling Station. The municipality first spreads grit on the main access roads, bus lanes, and bike paths. Then follow special public facilities such as hospitals, schools, nursing homes, fire department, police, city hall, city shops, and libraries. After that, residential streets, home zones, and parking facilities are treated. On the page slipperiness there is a map showing the locations where the municipality spreads grit.
Free Grit Salt Collection
Residents must keep the sidewalk in front of their home ice-free themselves. For this, you can collect free grit salt: a maximum of one bag of grit salt per address. This is possible at the Albion waste yard, on weekdays from 8:00 to 16:30, or at the Mobile Recycling Station. Residents can visit the waste yard for grit salt without an appointment and, once they have the bag, turn around at the barrier. This does not cost you a swipe on the waste yard pass.
