Final works on the Amsterdamsestraatweg will take place soon. The municipality and contractor Dura Vermeer have identified some completion points after the restructuring of the street; things that are not yet good (enough) and will therefore be improved. For example, there is track formation on the plateaus with crosswalks. This is not safe. The bus stop platforms are also too low, making it less safe and accessible for everyone to get on and off.

The works will take place from October 20 to 30. It has been deliberately chosen to plan the works mostly during the autumn break; during that period there is generally less traffic. At the same time, the works will again cause inconvenience for residents and entrepreneurs. “Really very annoying,” says district councilor Dennis de Vries, “but we want the contractor to solve those completion points as quickly as possible. We will do our utmost to minimize the inconvenience.” Shops, homes, businesses, and hospitality remain accessible. You can also walk or cycle in both directions on the Amsterdamsestraatweg. Through traffic on parts of the Amsterdamsestraatweg will not be possible from Monday, October 20 to Wednesday, October 22. After that, an alternating arrangement applies.

Monday, October 20 7:00 AM to Tuesday, October 21 5:00 PM

A small part of the Amsterdamsestraatweg is closed. The Amsterdamsestraatweg is accessible in both directions between Marnixlaan and Beverstraat and between Herenweg and Weerdsingel. Through traffic will be diverted via Cartesiusweg, Vleutenseweg, and Daalsetunnel. Local traffic will be diverted via Acaciastraat and Oudenoord.

Wednesday, October 22 from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM

A small part of the Amsterdamsestraatweg is closed. The Amsterdamsestraatweg is accessible in both directions from Geraniumstraat to Weerdsingel. Through traffic towards the center will be diverted via Cartesiusweg, Vleutenseweg, and Daalsetunnel. Traffic towards Zuilen/Maarssen will be diverted via Ondiep Zuidzijde and Royaards van Hamkade.
