In September 2024, demolition and new construction of the community center at Sint-Ludgerusstraat 251 in Zuilen began. Alderman Dennis de Vries stated: “The old building was no longer viable. Of course, we investigated whether renovation was possible, but ultimately we opted for demolition/new construction. The new community center will be built on the same site as the old one and it will be beautiful, sustainable, and accessible to everyone. But what I find particularly special is that it will ultimately be more than just a collection of bricks. It will be a place where people can meet, whether it’s for a cup of coffee, a language class, a workshop, or for support in filling out forms or organizing their finances.” The work will continue until the autumn of 2025.  

Open Afternoon 

The celebration of the highest point will take place on Wednesday, May 14, at 14:00 at Sint-Ludgerusstraat 251 in Utrecht. During this afternoon, it will be possible to receive a guided tour of the construction site led by the staff of Construction Company Van Dillen. Anyone who wishes can get a glimpse of what the new building will look like.
