Chairperson Francien Lange smoothly guided us through the morning and, after the opening, spoke with Lilian Boerkamp, researcher at the University of Twente. What obstacles do parents struggling to make ends meet experience in using the internet? What is the impact of these obstacles on various life domains? And how do different life domains influence each other? These three questions were central in a series of interviews with fathers and mothers from Enschede families struggling to make ends meet. Lilian talked about the approach and the results of her research.external-link-icon After her presentation, an interesting discussion arose based on questions from the audience. For example, it emerged that people appreciate realizing they are not the only ones experiencing problems. And that being able to consult a network around you is very important.

It was especially notable that the perspective of young people was addressed. During the Youth Council workshop, the challenges of young people in our digital society were highlighted. Because the assumption that young people are digitally skilled by definition is not entirely correct.

This edition also saw a large and diverse turnout. Thank you for coming! It is good to see that the topic is alive in Zwolle and that we want to bring about change together. If you want to be there next year as well, sign up for the Zwolse Stadsdialogen newsletter.
