New impulse for Holtenbroek
The Cruyff Court will be located on Bachlaan, opposite the temporary youth center. The location was deliberately chosen because of its central location and proximity to schools and neighborhood facilities. The design was made together with young people from Holtenbroek, SportService Zwolle and the Lassus Campus. Young people, neighborhood residents, sports clubs, schools and social organizations are actively involved in the further elaboration, so that it really becomes a place by and for the neighborhood.
Health, meeting and equal opportunities
Holtenbroek is a neighborhood with many different residents and backgrounds. It is precisely here that it is important that people can meet each other in a positive way. The Cruyff Court invites movement, connection and development. It will be a place where young people feel at home and playfully work on their health and future. Central to this is that every child has opportunities and deserves equal rights and attention to play sports and develop themselves.
Tribute to Jonnie Boer
During the 15th edition of the charity event Cooking with a Purpose it was announced that the new Cruyff Court will be named Jonnie Boer. The annual fundraising dinner, originally conceived by Johan Cruyff and Jonnie Boer, grew into a culinary top event that raised millions for sports and play projects of the Foundation.
During the anniversary edition, the municipality of Zwolle and the Johan Cruyff Foundation together handed over a sign with the logo of the future Cruyff Court Jonnie Boer to Thérèse and Isabel Boer.
