On Tuesday evening, November 25, 2025, Ingrid van Engelshoven, chair of the Board of the Parliamentary History Foundation, presented the Parliamentary History Yearbook 2025 in Nieuwspoort. First President of the Senate202fMei Li Vos202f and202fWieke Paulusma, Vice-President of the House of Representatives, received the first copies.

This edition of the Parliamentary History Yearbook explores politics and parliament during wartime. The book includes contributions from Beatrice de Graaf, Rimko van der Maar Wolfgang Wagner, Laurien Crump, Jörg Noll, Alexander Bon, and Ronald Kroeze. It covers parliamentary influence in times of war and international crises, the role of the House of Representatives in military deployment, NATO, and defense investments.

First President of the Senate Mei Li Vos spoke about how carefully and precisely the debates on war, defense, and equipment are conducted in the Senate, 2018also because we know that doing nothing is not an option2019: 2018This spring, the Senate adopted a private members bill from the House of Representatives that legally establishes that at least two percent of the gross domestic product will be spent on defense. Today, a request from the Minister of Defense is being discussed to urgently amend the budget due to drone countermeasures. These debates are also conducted carefully.
