On Tuesday, November 18, 2025, two new members were installed in the Senate: Antoon Kanis (D66) and Toine Beukering (Beukering Faction). Kanis succeeded Fatimazhra Belhirch (D66) and Beukering succeeded Annabel Nanninga (JA21). Belhirch and Nanninga have both been members of the House of Representatives since November 12, 2025.
Antoon Kanis served eight years for D66 in the Provincial Council of Gelderland; he was one of the youngest council members. In the Provincial Council, he spoke on agriculture, water, nature, aviation, finance, and general administration.
Toine Beukering was previously a senator: from February 15, 2021, to June 13, 2023, he was a member of the Nanninga Faction, from November 29, 2020, to February 15, 2021, he was a member of the Van Pareren Faction. From June 11, 2019, to November 29, 2020, he was a member of the FVD faction.
