This is stated in the report ‘Building Together for Results’ from last November, in which the Study Group on Intergovernmental Relations advocated for a fresh start in intergovernmental relations based on cooperation, feasibility, and respect for everyones democratic role. The report presents five building blocks for future-proof intergovernmental relations.
The province of South Holland used the report to organize a conference on Monday, January 26. Among the invitees were members of parliament, SGs and DGs of departments, regional and local administrators, policy officers from various governments, and the umbrella organizations IPO and VNG. They engaged in discussions about the concrete recommendations in the report. The conference began with a plenary session featuring an introduction by the vice-president of the Council of State, Thom de Graaf, and an explanation of the report by the chairman of the study group Han Polman, who is also a member of the Advisory Division of the Council of State.
The full text of Thom de Graafs introduction is published on the website of the Council of State.
