The group of Members of Parliament who worked on the implementation of the Wijen-Nass motion concerning the leaking of information from the Presidium, the daily board of the House, and social safety within the House, sent their public report to the House on January 20, 2026.

The Preparatory group for the implementation of the Wijen-Nass motion was established after the House of Representatives unanimously adopted the Wijen-Nass motion on September 9, 2025. The motion requested a public report on the proceedings regarding the investigation into former House Speaker Khadija Arib based on all available documents, with the aim of providing advice on:

  • Whether or not to start a process to prosecute Members of Parliament for leaking information;
  • Lessons for the future regarding social safety between the civil service and political office holders.

On September 28, 2022, information from the Presidium of the House of Representatives was leaked to the press about a fact-finding investigation into former House Speaker Khadija Arib, while confidentiality had been agreed upon. The Presidium had decided on a fact-finding investigation following signals that civil servants working at the House of Representatives may have experienced an unsafe working environment.
