The new House of Representatives debates on Thursday, November 13, starting at 10:15 AM about the results of the elections held on October 29. In this debate, the House appoints one or more informateurs. Wouter Koolmees will be present at the debate to explain the report he wrote as an explorer.
On Tuesday, November 11, Koolmees handed over his report to House Speaker Martin Bosma. A week earlier, the party leaders had appointed him as an explorer. The task of an explorer is to ask the newly elected factions which possible coalitions they envision.
House Debate
The new House of Representatives was installed on Wednesday, November 12. In the debate on the election results and the explorers report, it appoints one or more informateurs. Koolmees is present at this debate. With the appointment of an informateur, the next phase of the cabinet formation begins. The task of the informateur is to investigate which parties can form a coalition. The informateur therefore holds talks with the factions and guides the negotiations. He or she may also invite other persons for a conversation, such as representatives of social organizations or planning agencies.
