Some people continue to experience symptoms long after a coronavirus infection. When these last longer than three months, it is called post-Covid. The House of Representatives debates post-Covid and the associated symptoms on Thursday, January 29. You can follow the debate live from 7:00 PM via Debat Direct.

For the debate, ministers Jan Anthonie Bruijn (Health, Welfare and Sport) and Mariëlle Paul (Social Affairs and Employment) will come to the House of Representatives.

Long-term illness

The debate was requested at the end of last year by MP Julian Bushoff (GroenLinks-PvdA), who made the request also on behalf of MP Mirjam Bikker (ChristianUnion). He asked both ministers to debate with the House about all those people who have been ill for a long time and have a post-acute infection syndrome. 

Knowledge increase

During the debate, the state of affairs regarding post-Covid and the impact of post-acute infection syndrome (PAIS) on patients lives will be discussed. On the agenda are several parliamentary letters on this subject. For example, the letter Minister Bruijn sent to the House on November 28, in which he addresses, among other things, the importance of ongoing knowledge increase among municipal employees and primary care providers and the financing of long Covid clinics.
