Elections
The aim of parliament and government is to have the national budget, presented on Budget Day, adopted before January 1. This means approval by both the House of Representatives and the Senate. Ministries can then immediately start implementing policies in the new year. Due to the elections on October 29, the budget debates for the individual ministries will take place this time only in the December-March period, after the new members have taken office.
