The committees of the House of Representatives will receive several petitions on Tuesday, February 10, as is customary every meeting week. Citizens and organizations wishing to express their views come to the House of Representatives building to do so in the form of a petition submission. This time, Members of Parliament will receive eight petitions.
The petition submission takes place between 1:15 PM and 2:00 PM in the central hall of the House of Representatives, the Statenpassage. Citizens and organizations submit the petitions to various committees. Members of Parliament from those committees come to the Statenpassage to receive the petitions.
Petitions on Tuesday, February 10
- 1:15 PM: petition Entrepreneurship along the border - dont make it impossible on behalf of the broad coalition Support Our Border Regions to the Committee for Economic Affairs;
- 1:15 PM: petition Healthy, sustainable and innovative sector by young fruit growers to the Committee for Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security and Nature;
- 1:30 PM: petition about the situation in Kurdish areas in Northern Syria by the Kurdish Diaspora Community Netherlands (KDCN) and Stichting StuduRoj to the Committee for Foreign Affairs;
- 1:30 PM: petition about inequality in the recovery of benefits by affected parents abroad to the Committee for Finance;
- 1:30 PM: petition More cooperation, inclusive education and more money to promote equal opportunities and talent development by the Cooperation Association for Equal Opportunities and Citizenship Education (SKB) to the Committee for Education, Culture and Science;
- 1:45 PM: petition Future vision sector Trees, perennials and summer flowers by LTO Nederland, on behalf of LTO Trees, perennials and summer flowers and Royal Anthos to the Committee for Housing and Spatial Planning;
- 1:45 PM: petition Draft Constitutional Amendment: social fundamental rights by the University of Groningen to the Committee for the Interior;
- 1:45 PM: petition Stop danger and intimidation by fatbikes in Amsterdam to the Committee for Justice and Security.
What is a petition?
A petition is a way for citizens and organizations to make their voices heard. The petition can be about government plans the submitters disagree with, or about a topic they feel receives too little attention in Parliament.
