The committees of the House of Representatives will receive several petitions on Tuesday, December 16, as they do every parliamentary week. Citizens and organizations wishing to express their views come to the House of Representatives building to do so by submitting a petition. This time, the Members of Parliament will receive nine petitions.

The petition submission takes place between 1:15 PM and 2:00 PM in the central hall of the House of Representatives, the Statenpassage. Citizens and organizations submit the petitions to various committees. Members of Parliament from those committees come to the Statenpassage to receive the petitions.

Petitions on Tuesday, December 16

  • 1:00 PM: petition on climate justice by Action Aid to the Committee on Climate and Green Growth;
  • 1:15 PM: petition on ETS rights of the Amercentrale by WISE to the Committee on Climate and Green Growth;
  • 1:15 PM: petition Offer young people with long COVID a future on behalf of PostCovidNL, Long Covid Nederland, and youth group #jongcovid to the Committee on Health, Welfare and Sport;
  • 1:15 PM: petition Action plan: children of femicide victims and femicide by Blijf Groep to the Committee on Justice and Security;
  • 1:30 PM: petition Level playing field for energy-intensive industry in Europe on behalf of the Industry Coalition to the Committee on Economic Affairs;
  • 1:30 PM: petition Towards affordable care for everyone on behalf of multiple organizations including FNV Uitkeringsgerechtigden to the Committee on Health, Welfare and Sport;
  • 1:30 PM: petition Further building an inclusive labor market by Stichting Studeren & Werken op Maat (SWOM) and JongPIT to the Committee on Social Affairs and Employment;
  • 1:45 PM: petition Respectful language - Words matter by Weetwatjezegt (WWJZ) on behalf of Bond tegen vloeken to the Committee on the Interior;
  • 1:45 PM: petition We are the future on embedding climate education in schools by Think Now Foundation to the Committee on Education, Culture and Science. 

What is a petition?

A petition is a way for citizens and organizations to make their voices heard. The petition can be about government plans that the submitters disagree with or about a topic they believe receives too little attention in Parliament.
