Assignment
The House of Representatives appointed Letschert as informateur during the debate on cabinet formation on Wednesday, December 10. The House asks Letschert to guide the process in which D66, CDA, and VVD work towards an agreement on which a stable cabinet can be formed. The new informateur has been requested to complete this assignment by January 30 at the latest.

The informateur is appointed by the House of Representatives, which is done by vote. The House gives the informateur a specific assignment. The informateur guides the negotiations between factions at the formation table. The House can appoint multiple informateurs during the process of forming a new cabinet.
