His Majesty the King was informed on the evening of August 22, 2025, by Prime Minister H.W.M. Schoof about the Council of Ministers of August 22, the outcome of which is that the ministers and state secretaries of NSC request the King to grant them immediate dismissal.

At the proposal of the Prime Minister, the King granted dismissal in the most honorable manner to the ministers and state secretaries of NSC as of August 22, 2025:

  • Y.J. van Hijum as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Social Affairs and Employment;
  • C.C.J. Veldkamp as Minister of Foreign Affairs;
  • J.J.M. Uitermark as Minister of the Interior and Kingdom Relations;
  • E.E.W. Bruins as Minister of Education, Culture and Science;
  • D.E.M.C. Jansen as Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport;

as well as:

  • C.J. Boerma as State Secretary for Foreign Affairs;
  • T.H.D. Struycken as State Secretary for Justice and Security;
  • T. van Oostenbruggen as State Secretary for Finance;
  • S.Th.P.H. Palmen as State Secretary for Finance.

As of August 22, 2025, for the period not yet covered by the appointment of a minister for the respective ministries of Social Affairs and Employment, Foreign Affairs, the Interior and Kingdom Relations, Education, Culture and Science, and Health, Welfare and Sport after the dismissal granted to the aforementioned ministers, the temporary management of:

  • the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment will be led by M.C.G. Keijzer;
  • the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be led by R.P. Brekelmans;
  • the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations will be led by D.M. van Weel;
  • the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science will be led by S.Th.M. Hermans;
  • the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport will be led by R. Tieman.
