The focus of South Africas presidency includes debt sustainability for low-income countries, financing for sustainable energy transition, and food security. Minister Heinen of Finance is also present these days representing the Netherlands at the G20.
On November 24, the Prime Minister will travel to Luanda, Angola to participate in a summit of the African Union (AU) and the European Union (EU). This meeting focuses on the relations between the two continents and strengthening the EU-AU partnership, including in the areas of security and tackling organized crime and irregular migration.
On the sidelines of the G20 Leaders Summit and the AU-EU meeting, Prime Minister Schoof has several bilateral meetings with other government leaders. These concern international security and further improving economic cooperation.
Subsequently, the Prime Minister will visit Suriname, where he is invited by President Geerlings-Simons to attend the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Suriname on November 25. The Prime Minister will also have a bilateral meeting with President Geerlings-Simons and conduct several working visits, including to an agricultural company.
