On Saturday evening, the Prime Minister will be present in Cairo for the official opening of the new Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM). Heads of state and government leaders from around the world have been invited to this opening.
On Sunday, November 2, the Prime Minister will meet with Egyptian President al-Sisi. Belgian Prime Minister De Wever and Luxembourg Prime Minister Frieden will also attend this meeting.
They will discuss, among other things, the broad bilateral relationship, including cultural ties, that the Benelux has with Egypt. Other topics include developments in the region, particularly the status of the Gaza Peace Plan, and the reconstruction conference that the Netherlands will co-host with Egypt.
