The consultation phase of the draft law ran until September 26. A total of 672 responses were received, along with another 9 responses from parties addressed by the ministry. These responses have been processed in recent weeks.

Minister Van Weel has indicated that he wants to present the draft law to the House of Representatives as soon as possible after receiving advice from the Council of State.

The caretaker cabinet attaches great importance to the Asylum Emergency Measures Act. This is intended to simplify the asylum procedure, encourage foreigners to cooperate in their procedure, and contribute to limiting the influx of asylum seekers.
