Roald Lapperre has been the Director-General for Kingdom Relations at the Ministry of Interior and Kingdom Relations in recent years. Previously, he was Director-General for Environment and International Affairs and Deputy Director-General for Space and Water at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management. Earlier, he worked for over twenty years at the former Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality, including as Deputy Director-General for Agro and Nature. He studied Cultural Engineering at Wageningen University.

This appointment was made through the procedure for the top management group of the General Administrative Service.
