Loket D is an initiative of the Vfonds in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior and Kingdom Relations.
Judith Uitermark, Minister of BZK: “We build our society together, and everyone has a role and responsibility in this. People can do a lot themselves. And fortunately, many people and organizations are already taking on this role, out of commitment to their city, neighborhood, or each other. This gives rise to beautiful initiatives, stemming from peoples own strength, that make our society and democracy stronger. We want to support and further strengthen this. Loket D makes this possible.”
Participate, Discuss, and Decide
Loket D has been specially set up for small, local initiatives. For example, a plan that brings together young and old. Or that makes the street more lively, greener, or safer. Or teaches people to use their voice. Its about ideas that come from the neighborhood where people can participate, discuss, and decide. This is what democracy is all about. Think of initiatives on how to interact with each other and what role you have in the neighborhood. How young and old can make their voices heard or how the neighborhood can become safer.
Thus, Loket D is a first accessible way to promote citizenship further. The minister wants to make this collaboration more sustainable and broaden it. By working with local governments, funds, and businesses to provide space for citizens own initiatives and support them. And by strengthening new ways of influence and decision-making for citizens. This should strengthen the power and foundation of our society and democratic rule of law.
