These policy directions mainly concern the term of office of a new cabinet. Because the decision-making coincided too much with the previous cabinet change, this cabinet decided to leave further steps to the next cabinet.

The approach developed so far could focus on four areas that together ensure a coordinated fight against discrimination and racism in the Netherlands. This involves specific approaches for society as a whole, the public sector, the private sector, and Bonaire, Sint Eustatius, and Saba.

The fact that the decision on a next program comes later does not mean that the fight against discrimination and racism is at a standstill. The involved ministries continue to fully commit to the approach and actions already initiated. For example, the State Commission against Racism and Discrimination is working on the Discrimination Test, in which various public organizations look at how and where discrimination, exclusion, or unequal treatment can arise and be prevented.
