Update February 5: The Netherlands, together with Jordan, has again dropped aid supplies for the Jordanian field hospital in Gaza. Meanwhile, the Netherlands continues to strive to bring more humanitarian aid into Gaza.
The Netherlands is working with other countries to increase humanitarian aid for the civilian population in Gaza. Aid delivery by land is the most effective way to get large-scale supplies on site. However, so far access via land borders has been too limited. Therefore, this air drop was chosen.
Jordan had previously delivered several air shipments to alleviate the hospitals critical situation. This time, the military aircraft jointly carried out the operation from an airfield in Jordan. The operation was coordinated with Israel.
The aircraft and their crews returned safely after the operation.
