The Council of Ministers has approved, at the proposal of Minister Veldkamp of Foreign Affairs, 4 ambassador appointments. These are only final once the host countries have granted their approval. The Council of Ministers has also approved the appointment of the permanent representative to the OSCE.

The Council of Ministers approved the appointment of ambassadors to the following posts:

• Burkina Faso, based in Ouagadougou: Pieter Smidt van Gelder, currently strategic policy advisor at the Strategic Advisory unit.
• Niger, based in Niamey: André Carstens, currently a flexibly deployable ambassador in the TZ flex pool.
• Pakistan, based in Islamabad: Robert-Jan Siegert, until recently head of Coordination Support and Reconstruction of Ukraine at the Europe Directorate.
• Zimbabwe, based in Harare: Carel Richter, currently consul-general in Dubai.

The Council of Ministers approved the appointment of the permanent representative to the OSCE:

• PV OSCE (permanent representative to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe), based in Vienna: Monique de Ruijter, currently head of the Internal EU Policy department at the Europe Integration Directorate.
