Commission Den Oudsten presents investigation into mortar accident in Mali
Today, the Commission Den Oudsten presented its investigation into a mortar accident in Mali (2016). The commission has been investigating this incident since 2023 at the request of former minister Ollongren, where sergeant first class Henry Hoving and corporal Kevin Roggeveld lost their lives and 2 colleagues were injured.
The commission has investigated whether there was any individual negligence or blameworthy conduct in the accident in Mali.
The investigation by the Commission Den Oudsten follows an earlier investigation by the Safety Investigation Board (2017) and an investigation by the Van der Veer Commission (2018).
The minister received the report today and sent an initial response to the House of Representatives. A more detailed substantive response will follow in 4 weeks.
