This survey is intended for young people who fall under the framework law for conscription and are turning 17 this year or have just turned 17. Participation in the survey is voluntary and has no consequences. This year, 200,000 young people will receive this notice. Each notice includes a unique QR code. This allows the survey to be filled out directly. Completing it takes about 5-10 minutes.
Defence will contact the young people who voluntarily provide their contact details. An employee will provide them with information about positions that match their interests and skills and can discuss any further steps.
Due to the deteriorating security situation in the world, the armed forces will consist of 100,000 employees by 2030. In the following years, Defence aims to grow to a maximum of 200,000 employees.
Dienmodel
The Defence survey is one of the new entry pathways under the Dienmodel. This includes all entry and progression opportunities within Defence. Defence aims to encourage young people to take the step towards Defence and thus increase recruitment. The Dienmodel includes multiple entry options for military personnel. There are options to work full-time, but also as a reservist.
Young people can start working with the armed forces through the Dienjaar or the Defensity College. There is also the National Resilience Training. Furthermore, various universities of applied sciences and a university will start military minor programs this autumn. For vocational students, military elective components are available. Students are trained as reservists through these programs. Additionally, it is possible to make a study deal or intern with Defence.
