In a chaotic environment, ensuring that 4000 soldiers carry out missions at the right moment is the challenge of exercise Bastion Lion, which has started today. Tomorrow, the troops will move to Germany for an offensive operation in urbanized areas. This prepares the army even more realistically for a large-scale conflict.

Gathering intelligence and monitoring dangers from the air. Also removing obstacles on the route and delivering the first blows. Furthermore, ensuring that the logistics chain functions over hundreds of kilometers. And also ensuring that the connections do not fail at all.

Only when all these factors interact correctly does the attack stand a chance of success. This requires precise coordination between, among others, engineering, artillery, and air defense.
