The agreement (MoU) aims to promote information exchange and cooperation. According to Brekelmans, the defence industry is crucial in supporting joint defence. By working together, companies can leverage each others expertise. This enables the development of innovative solutions for complex challenges.
Our common goal is to create a strong and large-scale defence industry. Let us continue to innovate, push boundaries, and collaborate for a safer future for our countries, Ukraine, and our allies, the minister urged.
Ammunition
The Netherlands and the Czech Republic have long been closely cooperating to ensure that Ukraine can continue to defend itself against Russian aggression. For instance, the Netherlands was one of the first to take advantage of a Czech initiative. This involved purchasing, producing, or refurbishing equipment for Ukraine. Both countries and Denmark also ensured a structural supply of ammunition to Ukraine.
Unmanned Systems
Brekelmans met with his Czech counterpart Jana Černochová in Prague. They discussed the importance of the cooperating defence industry. The NATO summit in The Hague later this month was also on the agenda. Brekelmans assured that the Netherlands will continue its course on Defence in the new political situation.
