Drs. A.C. (Coen) Hogendoorn has been the director of the National Audit Office since October 2020 and has been the Deputy Director-General of the National Budget at the Ministry of Finance since 2018. At the same ministry, he was also the Director of Budget Affairs and Director of General Financial Economic Policy. Previously, he was the Director of Financial Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Justice and Security and Deputy Director at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment. He started his career as an inspector at the National Audit Office. Coen Hogendoorn studied Economics, specializing in Business Economics, at the University of Amsterdam.

This appointment was made through the procedure for the top management group of the General Administrative Service.
