His Majesty the King attended a memorial celebration for Pope Francis on Wednesday evening, April 23, at the Co-Cathedral Basilica of Saint Nicholas in the capital. Minister Van Weel of Justice and Security, also the Minister of Worship, was present.

The celebration in Amsterdam was led by the Bishop of Haarlem-Amsterdam, Mgr. Dr. J.W.M. Hendriks. The music was provided by the Cappella Nicolai.

Pope Francis passed away on Easter Monday. Prime Minister Schoof and Minister Veldkamp of Foreign Affairs will attend the funeral service on Saturday, April 26, on behalf of the government.
