Mr. M.J. (Marc) Kuipers has been Consul General in Osaka, Japan since 2021 for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Previously, he was Inspector General at the SZW Inspection, now the Dutch Labor Inspectorate. Earlier, he held various management positions, including Deputy Director General at the General Intelligence and Security Service (AIVD), and worked in several management roles, including as Director of the Justis Service at the Ministry of Justice. Marc Kuipers studied Dutch Law at Utrecht University.

This appointment has been made through the procedure for the top management group of the General Administrative Service.
