Households and businesses have taken over 760,000 sustainability measures between 2019 and 2023 with the help of the ISDE scheme. The scheme helps people to structurally reduce their energy bills, for example by insulating their homes. Additionally, over 0.6 megatons of CO2 emissions have been avoided.
The researchers conclude that the scheme is effective and that people are taking measures they would not have taken otherwise. This applies to all income groups. Moreover, the scheme performs better than comparable schemes abroad.
Therefore, the cabinet has decided to extend the ISDE scheme. The same subsidy percentages will apply for 2026. The cabinet will make a decision on the design of the ISDE from 2027 in the middle of next year.
