No Transport Ban
There are many species of birds and other animals living at the location. According to European regulations, it is possible to deviate from the obligation to cull all animals at an infected location if the animals have high cultural or educational value. Culling all present birds is not proportionate in this case. Therefore, careful consideration is given to which animals will be culled and which will not. Birds that are not culled are kept separately and retested at a later time. Additionally, all present birds must be kept away from the public for a period of three weeks. No restriction zones are established around the infected location. Consequently, there is no transport ban in the area.
National Measures
Since October 16, 2025, a national housing and shielding obligation applies in the Netherlands. The housing obligation applies to all commercially kept birds, and the shielding obligation applies to non-commercially kept risk birds (for example, hobby chickens).
